Introduction
This story is one of discrimination and the right to express one's individuality. A small town is divided over the question of whether or not the wearing of low-slung pants is to be tolerated. The author has chosen a light-hearted and almost ludicrous example of individuality - where one's pants hang - to lighten the tone of the story at the same time as ridiculing a bizarre form of human tribalism.
